Dear Parents and Guardians,
November is the perfect time for reflection, service and giving. This November we encourage you to join the Blue Springs Education Foundation in giving back to district students in need by contributing to the Kids Reaching Others Choosing Kindness (Kids R.O.C.K.) fund. Kids R.O.C.K. started when three of our Elementary Students were looking for a way to help their peers. Since its inception six years ago our own students have collected over $22,000. These funds are then awarded to students who may be suffering in the classroom due to an inability to afford necessities, healthcare needs, school fees, and much more. This school year, we have already helped eight students at six different schools totaling nearly $500, but more importantly these eight students were able to quickly and comfortably return to school or receive the necessary items to create their best possible learning environment.
The Blue Springs Education Foundation would like you and your student to consider making a donation or pledge to Kids R.O.C.K. All of the seemingly small donations of $5 and above will add up to make a difference. If every classroom simply donates $100 during the school year we can raise $15,000 to ease the struggles of students in our own schools who are silently suffering.
After talking about this with your child, we hope you will fill out the bottom portion of this letter and return it to your classroom teacher at your earliest convenience.
Each student who becomes a donor will receive a certificate, and the classroom with the largest total contribution in the district will receive a pizza party.
