About the Board of Education

The board is an elected group of seven individuals who volunteer their services to the school district and its constituency. They are elected to three-year terms. As members, the state charges them with the responsibility of providing educational opportunities for the children of the school district through determining policies and evaluating results. The board meets in regular session the second Monday of each month and has work sessions the first Monday of each month. Both are held at 1801 NW Vesper. Citizens wishing to address the board should review the district's Community Engagement policy 1.51 and make a written request by contacting the board secretary.

 Notice is hereby given that one vacancy exists within the seven-member Blue Springs Reorganized School District No. 4 Board of Education.  The term for the vacant office ends on April 8, 2025.

The Blue Springs School District Board of Education will consider appointing a qualified resident to fill the vacancy.  Interested individuals should contact Board Secretary Karin Keener at 816-874-3287 or [email protected] for information and an application packet.  All applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024.
