School Nutrition Education
The National School Lunch and Breakfast Program has changed drastically over the years, but for the better. By introducing students to more whole grain options, increased variety of fruits/vegetables, reduced fat options, and lower sodium has put school meals at the top of the totem pole for the highest quality meals. If you have any questions regarding the USDA meal patterns followed, please reach out to us.

Menu Update
While the supply chain issues around the nation have affected all of us in food service industry, we want to communicate that BSSD remains diligent in providing quality meals for your children. We are still able to offer several choices of main dishes as well as fresh produce daily. We work with local C&C Produce as well as local farmers through the KC Food Hub to bring in farm fresh produce on a weekly basis. All students are still able to receive a full reimbursable meal, which includes a main entrée, fruit, vegetable, and milk. However, you may see occasional substitutions to our menus depending on what products we are able to get in from our distributors. We appreciate your patience while we navigate this current situation.
