Staff Grants

The following grants are available to BSSD staff for extra funding beyond what is supported by the district budget.

Classroom Staff Grant Application - Due by Wednesday, October 23, 2024

Staff in the BSSD may apply for up to $5,000 in grant funding to enhance teaching and learning. All BSEF Classroom Grants are first vetted through the Curriculum and Instruction or Special Services Department. Reviewing the items below will help ensure your grant application is approved for judging. Please reach out to Katie Woolf at [email protected] or 816-874-3214 with any questions.

  • K-5 teachers looking to expand their classroom book libraries may apply for a library expansion kit preapproved through C & I. Please email [email protected] to view the available options. Grants requesting a large number of various titles will likely not be approved.
  • Dr. Brandon Martin should approve tech grants before submission.
  • Applications for flexible seating should be research and plan-driven.
  • Assistive technology grant applications should be reviewed by Emily White before submission.
  • All sensory grants and questions should be reviewed by Chris Workman. (Sensory items should be age-appropriate.)

Creative Teaching Grant  Due by Friday, February 14, 2025 for grants up to $200

The Creative Teaching Grant is designed to enhance the excellent programs and instruction synonymous with the Blue Springs School District and provide assistance for student success in the K-12 experience and beyond. 

Any teacher, administrator, or academic support staff person employed by the BlueSprings School District is eligible to apply. 

Staff Grant requests should not exceed $200, although it is recommended requests stay at or below $100. These requests must be for projects or programs for which there is not funding available by other school resources or parent groups.

The proposed project or program must support and may supplement the current district curriculum, but it cannot replace them.
