District fliers are a means to communicate to our community local activities, events and programs. Fliers are pdf attachments with ADA compliant text listed below each title.

BSAA Basketball

Girls Pre-Season Open Gym

  • Who: Girls, Grades 2 - 7
  • Where: Brittany Hill Middle School
  • When: Thursday, October 24, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. 
  • What: Session will include basketball fundamentals and 3- on - 3 games. All girls who played BSAA in 2018-2019 are welcome to attend along with their friends and any girls who are interested to play basketball in BSAA this season.
  • No cost to attend.

2019-2020 B.S.A.A. Basketball League

Who: Boys K-12th Grade and Girls K-8th Grade
When: Saturday, October 19 (9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at Brittany Hill Middle School

  • You may sign up in person. Sign ups are First Come First Serve. After limits are reached, you will be put on a waiting list. 
  • Blue Springs Resident participants receive priority.

Registration Fee: $105.00 per player. Fees may be paid by cash or credit/debit card. No personal checks will be accepted.

  • No refunds will be given after skills test (November 2, 2019) unless a physical condition arises. 
  • Practice will start the week of November 4. Games Start Saturday December 14 and end February 29 with possible make up dates the week of March 7.

SPONSORSHIPS: B.S.A.A. and the Blue Springs School District have offered basketball to area youth for over 40 years. Sponsors keep player fees affordable and helps pay for referees, trophies, custodians and scorekeepers. The cost is $200.00 per team. The Company name will appear on your sponsored team’s shirt and will appear in our weekly standings in the Examiner. Please contact a coach or league officer if you are interested in sponsoring a team. EACH TEAM IS ENCOURAGED TO GET A SPONSORSHIP.

Youth Basketball League

Blue Springs Parks and Rec

Who: Kindergarten Coed, 1st Grade Boys, 1st Grade Girls, 2nd-3rd Grade Boys, 2nd-3rd Grade Girls, 4th-5th Grade Boys, 4th-5th Grade Girls
What: Registration fee is $80 per player, this includes an 8 game season, trophy at the completion of the program, as well as all equipment provided by Blue Springs Parks and Recreation. No hidden fees or fundraisers.

You will have one practice during the week and then one on Saturday mornings. Once games begin on Saturday mornings, you will have one practice during the week. You will not know your practice time and day until after coaches meeting on October 30th.
Important Dates: 

  • Registration Day: October 24 @ Fieldhouse 3-6 p.m.
  • Registration Deadline: October 27
  • Coaches Meeting: October 30 @ Fieldhouse 6 p.m.
  • Practices begin: Week of November 12
  • First Game Day: January 11

BSSHS Touch of Silver Dance Team Fall Cinic

Who: Students in K - 8th grade. Dancers will be divided by grade to learn their routine.
What: Everyone attending will learn a dance routine and perform during half-time show of the BSSHS soccer game Wednesday, October 23 at 6:30 p.m. Pre-register with the flier by October 15 with $25.00 Registration Fee and mail in to:

BSHS Glitter Girls Fall Dance Clinic

Who: Calling all k-8th grade dancers!
What: Enroll in a fall dance clinic for an afternoon with the Glitter Girls and to participate in a performance at the BSHS/BSSHS Boys Soccer game. All participants are guaranteed a shift and autographed picture of the 2019-2020 Glitter Girls. Pre-register with the flier by October 11 with $25.00 Registration Fee and mail in to:

  • Who: Open to all children and young adults with special needs, and their families/caregivers
  • What: Totally free Halloween Party that will include food, DJ dance party, games, activities, and a costume contest.
  • Where: Blue Springs Elks Lodge, 100 NE Brizendine Rd, Blue Springs, Mo (Off 40 hwy across from the American Legion Baseball Complex)

"Future Jags"/"Future Wildcats" Competitive Basketball Program

  • Who: 1st Grade through 7th grade students
  • What: Play on a Competitive Basketball Team this Winter
  • Where: Practices held in BSSD Gyms / Games Played in local Comp Leagues and Tournaments
  • When: FREE Player Skills Clinics to Kickoff the program on Tuesday 10/15 and Wednesday 10/16 at Brittany Hill Middle School
    Winter Season runs from October 28th through March 29th
  • Why: Teams will be formed based on the high school that players will attend (BSS -Future Jags / BS Future Cats)

Students won’t only Learn Cheers, Chants, Stunting, and Fun Team Building, but also Learn Self Confidence, Character Building, Physical fitness, and New Friends
Classes are held at John Nowlin Elementary on Wednesdays starting September 4th.
Class times are:

  • 6:15-7:00pm (ages 4-6) JV
  • 7:00-7:45pm (ages 7-9) V
  • 7:45-8:30pm (ages 10 & Up) JAS
  • 8:15-9:15pm (try out only) Pro
