Professional Development

The Blue Springs Professional Development Committee is known as The District Leadership Team. The committee consists of 45 educators representing all building and departments. The District Leadership Team promotes continuous, job-embedded staff development and collaboration. The District Leadership Team supports the CSIP goals and the current school year will emphasize instructional strategies, classroom management, reading comprehension and writing. Mentoring
The Blue Springs School District offers new teachers a strong support system which includes mentoring.

Meeting Dates
The District Leadership Team members meet 3 times a year (August, February, and May) to plan professional development events and to evaluate/assess current professional development as well as district professional development plans.

The Blue Springs School District uses the professional development management system InService to manage staff and teacher personal development and progress. The district uses the system to track teacher progress for state goals, standards, improvement plans, and programs such as High Quality Professional Development.
