Angela Sullivan - October 2024 Employee of the Month

It is my pleasure to introduce Angela Sullivan as the October Employee of the Month. Angela is an eighth grade math teacher at Moreland Ridge Middle School in her 25th year with BSSD. She is the Math Cadre Lead Member for MRMS, a 504 Coordinator, a TLC Tutoring Coordinator, part of the Faculty Leadership team, Narcan Trained, and is the Huskies head volleyball coach.
Moreland Ridge Principal Dr. Kelly Flax said of Angela, “She is an incredible teammate and grade level mentor. Angela has always been an advocate for what is best for students. She shows up to help in quiet ways that rarely get noticed. Her communication with parents sets her students up for success, and her care for colleagues builds a strong foundation for the MRMS family.”
BSSD Math Instructional Coach Craig Dierking said, “Angela has been laying the curricular foundation for MRMS and all BSSD Middle Schools by leading math collaboration. She is truly the best of the best, and we are so lucky to have her in our math department.”
First-year ELA teacher Molly Cox added, “Angela has provided incredible support and kindness during my first year in the district. From day one, Angela went out of her way to make me feel welcome and provided invaluable guidance. Her willingness to share resources, offer advice, and lend a listening ear made a world of difference.”
Fellow MRMS math teacher Kari Twobley said, “Angela goes above and beyond to help the kids who need accommodation. She never quits on her students. If her colleagues need her, she is the first to volunteer. Every decision she makes is based on what is best for her students and her colleagues, even when it means a harder road for herself. She has the biggest heart.”
Some of her students said, “She makes sure I don’t fall asleep in class.”
“When I am absent, I email her, and she always gets back to me and helps me with the assignment.”
“She is not like my other math teachers. She makes things easy to understand, and I can tell she cares about me. When I was in the hospital for several weeks, she came to visit me many times and would check on me once I got home.”
Another 8th grade student said, “I have had Mrs. Sullivan for two years in a row. She has helped me a lot and listens to her students. She is willing to change things to make sure we are all learning our math. Mrs. Sullivan treats me like I am one of her kids, and not having a mom myself, this really connects for me. She has been great for me!”
Please help me congratulate Angela Sullivan as the October Employee of the Month.
