Aimee Steele - February 2026

Aimee Steele is the February Employee of the Month. Aimee teaches third grade at Lucy Franklin Elementary. She is in her 15th year of teaching and her 13th year with BSSD. Aimee serves on the leadership team, Project Lead the Way, and is the Garden Club Leader.
Colleague Erica Schlotman said, “Aimee is the definition of a great educator. She brings warmth and kindness that radiate throughout the school and the wider community, making everyone feel valued. Her passion for education extends far beyond what she teaches in her classroom. Aimee is deeply committed to her students and is relentless in her dedication to ensuring that every single one of them succeeds.”
Colleague Sydne Utlaut added, “Working alongside Aimee is truly a gift. She is one of those rare educators whose warmth instantly makes students - and colleagues - feel welcomed, supported, and valued. What stands out most about Aimee is her unwavering dedication to ensuring every student learns and thrives. Her work ethic is matched only by the heart she pours into everything she does. Aimee teaches with genuine passion and purpose. Her students feel seen, her colleagues feel supported, and our whole school community is better because of her. She is truly an extraordinary educator and an even more extraordinary person.”
Assistant Principal Kaylee Nelson said, “As her grade level’s Leadership Team representative, she consistently serves as a thoughtful, dependable voice for her team. She is a natural, quiet leader—someone who doesn’t seek the spotlight but absolutely deserves it. Colleagues trust her judgment, her kindness, and her ability to offer support without ever making a big show of it. Staff know they can come to Aimee for help, honest advice, or simply a listening ear, and they leave feeling supported.”
Principal Brian Lowe said of Aimee, “She is truly deserving of this honor. There are countless words to describe her, but kind, compassionate, and positive rise to the top. It’s no surprise that she has previously been recognized as our Building Teacher of the Year, and she continues to set the bar high with her unwavering commitment and excellence. We are proud to celebrate Aimee as Employee of the Month.”
Congratulations to Aimee.
