Positive Pinwheels

As visitors came to James Walker Elementary on September 18, they were greeted by smiles, waves, and hundreds of peaceful messages in the form of pinwheels in the front lawn.

Pinwheels for Peace is a global art project and public awareness movement where participants decorate pinwheels with messages of peace and “plant” them outside for the International Day of Peace. JWE students spent the week decorating and assembling pinwheels with positive messages, designs and artwork. 

A pinwheel primarily symbolizes joy, and the hope for a safe, healthy future for every child. Thank you to JWE students for sharing their positive messages and artwork.
