National Finalists

Blue Springs High School seniors Gavian Fluharty and Miru Lee are finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Finalists represent the top .5 percent of United States high school seniors and are recognized with a Certificate of Merit and are eligible for roughly 6,900 scholarships worth nearly $26 million. These include the $2,500 National Merit Scholarships, corporate-sponsored scholarships, and college-sponsored scholarships.
To become a Finalist, students must submit a detailed application, including an essay, high school transcript, school recommendation, and SAT/ACT scores that confirm their earlier PSAT performance.
A finalist is one of approximately 15,000 high-scoring high school seniors (out of 1.3+ million entrants) who advance from the semifinalist. They are eligible for roughly 7,500 prestigious Merit Scholarship awards.
Congratulations to Gavian and Miru!
