Battle of the Brains Honors

Students from Blue Springs South High School and Brittany Hill Middle School took part in the Burns & McDonnell Battle of the Brains Top 20 celebration. Both teams were honored during the award ceremony at Union Station and received $2,500 grants for their schools.
Ryan Messick’s class from BSSHS submitted a proposal titled “Going Nuclear,” an exhibit designed to transform public perception about nuclear energy.
Dana Bower’s class from BHMS submitted a proposal titled “Listen hEAR.” The project turns curiosity into discovery by amplifying the joy of exploration through the science of sound.
The competition included 710 ideas from schools across the greater Kansas City region. Congratulations to both these schools and their design teams.
