South Bowling Wins State

The Blue Springs South High School Jaguars bowling team won the first state championship in its history this spring. The program began two years ago as a club team and took this year’s title by overcoming a slow start to finish strong in the finals.
“The finals were insane,” coach Nathan Mooney said. “Every game was about 10 pins or less. These guys had ice in their blood when they needed it most. It was an amazing time.”
Jaguars team members are Davis Christianson, Cayman Claire, Ayden Duncan, Dillon Pollard, Mason Stover, and Kaeden White. By winning the state title, team members split $4,200 in scholarships. They also won $1,800 by taking second in district.
This year’s roster was led by a strong group of seniors, who helped set themselves up for collegiate success.
“It’s a fun sport, but they can also win funds at a lot of the local tournaments,” Mooney said. “Kaeden White started bowling at the age of 12. This state tournament winnings put him close to $20,000 in funds that he can use for schooling after high school.”
Congratulations to the state champion Jaguars.
