As we reach the end of a calendar year and our first semester, we take time to celebrate a successful first half of the school year and look forward to a new year filled with even greater opportunities and possibilities.

Our school year opened with new challenges and the excitement of 98 percent of our students returning to in-person learning. We have also seen the beginning of an exciting future with construction projects underway provided by voter approval of a no tax rate increase bond and no tax rate increase levy fund transfer in August. These projects will continue through the school year with others beginning in January.

As we enter the holiday break, may we all take the opportunity to gather with family, celebrate those close to us, and enjoy the time together. As we return for the second semester, we will need to continue our work as a community to keep our schools and students safe, healthy, and prosperous.

Our students and programs have excelled this semester, and the second half of the 2021-2022 school year promises to be filled with even more extraordinary accomplishments. As our high school staff members always emphasize for our graduating seniors to “finish strong,” I expect the second half of the school year to be one filled with a strong finish.

As our schools and community work together for our students, may we all have a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic start to the new year.
