Abundant Life in Blue Springs has been a dedicated partner for our schools and continued that tradition this fall. Members of the Abundant Life Blue Springs Campus volunteered to help provide for BSSD families over the holidays and chipped in for beautification projects at James Walker Elementary.

For the 12th year, Abundant Life provided Thanksgiving Meal Boxes to the Kansas City area. What started out as a few has turned into over 900 Thanksgiving Meal Boxes, 121 of them in the Blue Springs School District. Volunteers delivered frozen turkeys and non-perishable side items to several BSSD schools, helping ease the cost of providing Thanksgiving meals for local families in need.

The Abundant Life Blue Springs team also helped provide landscaping support at JWE. More than 20 volunteers helped dig up sod to prep the area for new garden beds, provided by Colonial Gardens – another longtime BSSD community partner.

Abundant Life also provided a Christmas Resource Fair for the community where residents received food, hygiene items, gloves, hats, Christmas goodies and small gifts.

“We understand that the holidays can be a difficult season for many families. By providing a Thanksgiving meal with all the ingredients, it provides a bit of normalcy and something they don’t have to worry about,” said Abundant Life Communication Director Rachel Branson. “We are honored to be a part of the Blue Springs community and being able to help families enjoy a simple meal is part of that.”
