The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has honored the district since 2000 with perfect scores on the Annual Performance Report making us one of the top five school districts in the state of Missouri.

Application Process

These applications contain six (6) pages/screens and will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete. You will have a chance to review and make changes to your applications before submitting it. We recommend printing the application and reviewing it thoroughly. 
Applying for Certified Position
  • Certified positions consist of teaching or administrative positions
  • Complete the online application for certified positions
  • Submit a current resume 
  • Upon completion of the above, all files will be reviewed. Based on district needs, necessary interviews will be scheduled. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews as vacancies occur. The majority of interviews are scheduled from February 15 through June 15. 
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and must hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri teaching certificate. 
  • Prior to employment, candidates must successfully complete an FBI/Highway Patrol Background check.
  • Prior to employment, we will need to have the placement office of your college or university forward a completed transcript of your undergraduate and graduate courses and a copy of your credentials. PLEASE do not send this until you have been offered a position with the Blue Springs School District.
    Important Notice for All Applicants
    The Blue Springs School District, upon employment, utilizes E-Verify to validate the ability of new employees to work legally in the United States.

    How many years of teaching experience can I bring in to Blue Springs R-IV?
    Beginning in the fall of 2006, the Board of Education has made the commitment to allow all years of teaching experience in to our district as they are appropriate on our salary schedule. The Blue Springs R-IV certified salary schedule allows for up to 18 years of experience. 

    How do I apply for a position?
    The Blue Springs R-IV School District utilizes an online applicant system. You may access this system through our district website at Blue Springs School District and follow the Human Resources link. Current job postings are listed as well as the application process.

    How will I know the status of my application? 
    You may check the status of your application through the online application system. If you include an e-mail address, the system will generate an e-mail to you as your status changes.

    How do I know if I am hired for a position after interviewing?
    All applicants interviewed are notified once a hiring decision is made.

    How long will my application be on file?
    Our online application system allows your profile to be retained indefinitely. However, you must continue to keep your profile current and apply for current jobs posted in order to be considered for any position. Each application is current only as long as the position has not been filled. The system will notify by e-mail (if you have included an e-mail address on your profile) when your application status changes.
