Mr. William White
William White received his Bachelor of Music Education degree at the Conservatory of Music-University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2015. As a student, William was part of the UMKC Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble and the “KCSQ” saxophone quartet. Also during his time there, William played alto and soprano saxophone in the 3 0’Clock Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of jazz legend Bobby Watson.
Previously William served as the Assistant Director of Bands at Bellevue East High School from 2015-2017 teaching marching band, symphonic band, concert band, and the celebrated Chieftain Jazz Ensemble. Also, William has been director of the saxophone ensemble at the UMKC Summer Saxophone Symposium, led by Zach Shemon, since 2015.
In 2017 William attended the University of Houston as a Graduate Teaching Assistant pursuing a Master’s degree in Wind Conducting. There he assisted in conducting three out of the four college ensembles while also assisting with the Spirit of Houston marching band and leading the Women’s athletic bands. While in Houston William studied with internationally known music pedagogues such as David Clemmer, Cory Meals, Jeffree Sposato, David Bertman, John Benzer, and Howard Pollack.
Over the years, he has served as a woodwind pedagogue and marching technician for multiple bands across the nation including: Blue Valley South West, Olathe North, Grain Valley, Punahou, Blue Springs and William Mason.
This is Mr. White’s first year on staff at Blue Springs South, focusing on the woodwind students in this district he is very excited to give back to the community which gave him his passion for music.
