Mrs. Virginia Corbin

Welcome to Mrs. Corbin’s third-grade class. I am so excited to have your student in my classroom this year! Third-grade is a fun exciting year filled with lots of learning. This year, the students and I will learn, grow, and have fun together. I have a lot of fun activities and lessons planned for us this year. I am really looking forward to working and getting to know you and your student this year. I know we are going to have a great year together, and I hope you and your student enjoy being a part of my class.

I want to take the time to tell you a little about myself. I was born in North Carolina, but raised and grew up in the heart of Blue Springs. I graduated from Blue Springs South High School in 2005. After high school, I attended Johnson County Community College for two years and then transferred to the University of Missouri. In May 2010, I graduated from Mizzou with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (1-6). Prior to graduating, I completed a full year of student teaching at James Walker Elementary in Blue Springs. I am glad I had the opportunity to return to my hometown to student teach and to begin my teaching career. It is a great feeling to be back in Blue Springs Schools. This is my sixth year of teaching, but my second year teaching third-grade at Voy Spears Elementary. The past four years I taught fifth-grade.

I am married to Travis Corbin, who is also an educator and works for the Raytown School District. We have been married for five years and we currently live in Blue Springs. We are proud parents of a 2 year old little girl. Her name is Aurelia.
