Meet Mrs. Watson!

Welcome to Mrs. Watson's Fourth Grade Website! I was born in Maryland and have been fortunate to live in both Bermuda and England for five years each. I moved to Harrisonville, MO in 5th grade and have been in Missouri ever since. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Elementary Education from Truman State University. In addition, I earned my Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Truman State University. I taught fifth grade for one year in Macon, MO while I was finishing my Master's degree. This will be my fifth year teaching fourth grade at SPE. In 2016, I graduated with my Specialist Degree in Elementary Administration through the University of Central Missouri.

I married my high school sweetheart, Matt, in 2015! We really enjoy traveling. One of our favorite spots is Kauai! My older brother lives in the Kansas City area and has blessed me with two adorable nieces and a nephew. Olivia is six, Charlotte is almost five, and Ben is two. My parents live in New Orleans and I enjoy visiting them throughout the year.

Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and continually strive to help my students in developing a love for learning. I have created my classroom into a safe and inviting place for my students to learn. I hope that they will enjoy coming to my classroom to learn something new each day. My classroom recognizes and respects individuality, as each student has unique needs. Thus, I will work diligently to help my students succeed by providing them with guidance and materials that best fit their needs.

I invite you to play an active role in your child's education by talking with you child each day about their learning, reading together often, and communicating with me. If at any time you have a questions, I will be happy to talk with you. The easiest way to contact me is through e-mail or a note. I want you to feel well informed throughout the year. Thus, classroom notes and newsletters will be posted regularly to keep you informed. Each day, your child will bring home his or her Puma Folder and planner, which will contain graded work and class updates. Thank you in advance for your support!
