I'm a graduate of UCM (in 2000, so I still call it CMSU!) and I received my masters in Teacher Leadership from Park University in 2016. I taught high school vocal music for a few years before making the decision to stay home with my kids. During my time at home with them I taught preschool music as well as private voice and piano lessons. I also directed a church choir during that time and am still the director of the church's worship team.
I have 3 kids attending the Freshman Center and Moreland Ridge Middle School. My husband was raised in Blue Springs and he and I agreed this was the perfect place to call home. We love it here and couldn't think of a better place to raise our kids.
I feel very blessed to be able to go to work each day and do what I love!
Kindergarten Program FAQ's
*What is the date of our performance? 2018-19 PTA performances are listed at the bottom left of this page.
*What time does it start? Students should be in their classrooms at 6:45, a short PTA meeting starts at 7:00 followed by the performance.
*What time does it end? Programs are typically over before 8:00.
*What time is the daytime performance? We'll perform for SPE students at 10:00 am and 2:20 pm on the same day as our performance. This time is subject to change. Please check with the office if you have questions.
*Can parents come to the daytime performance? Typically this performance is just for the students. Special circumstances should go through the office.
*What should my child wear? Kindergarten students have been asked to wear pink. This is "The Three Piggy Opera," so pig ears, tails, noses, etc. are welcomed! I NEVER want anyone to feel like they have to purchase an entire new outfit. Be creative! Turn a pink shirt with print wrong-side out. Look on the internet for creative ways to make a pig costume. If you would rather purchase something, I got ears, a tail, and a nose for $4.99 at Party City. Amazon had TONS of options! I'm very flexible!
*Should my child dress up for the daytime performance too? That would be ideal, it's always more fun for the audience to see them dressed up.
*Do they need to bring anything for the performance? Kindergarten students should not need anything extra. Just their pig accessories. :)
*Should we arrive early? It never hurts to get here early to get a seat. However, please have your child sit with you until 6:45 so their classroom teachers have a chance to get settled.
*Will we provide a video of the performance? Due to copyright laws, we are not able to share video of our performances.
