Mrs. Marissa Tschanz
Hi, my name is Marissa Tschanz and I am your child’s Kindergarten teacher! I am so excited to have your child in class this year and I cannot wait to get to know your family even better! This is my 14th year of teaching and I have been at Daniel Young Elementary all of those 14 years. I taught first grade for a year and a half and then I taught second grade for 8 years. This is my fourth year in Kindergarten and I am LOVING it!! I received my Bachelors in Education from UCM in 2005. I double majored in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I received my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Webster University in 2008. I completed my plus 40 continuing education hours last summer, so I am up to date on all of the latest and greatest in education!!
I am married to my very best friend, Graham. We just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary in June! We live in Pleasant Hill and have 3 furbabies that are our whole world! Cooper is an 11-year old Puggle and Smokey and Ashes are 7-year old miniature corgis! They are brother and sister and the best of friends! We love them all to pieces!!
I am very close to my mom and dad and love spending every chance I get with them. During the summer, we are busy garden tractor pulling on the weekends! I have 2 garden tractors of my own and love the quality time with my family and my ‘pulling’ family. I also love to spend time next to the pool in the sunshine!
Teaching is my passion and I love to watch my students grow as learners, as well as individuals! There is nothing better than watching a classroom full of children get SO excited to learn something new! We celebrate every little milestone that we hit and it makes my heart happy to see their little faces light up! I am committed to making sure your child has the best possible experience in Kindergarten! I am a huge advocate for parent/teacher partnerships in student learning and cannot wait to work with you to ensure that happens!
