Mr. Nathan Mooney

Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Nathan Mooney

I moved to Blue Springs when I was in 8th grade where I then graduated from Blue Springs South in 1997.  The following year I went to Truman State University in Kirksville, MO where I majored in Chemistry and minored in Biology.  I graduated from Truman State with my Bachelor's degree in 2001 and then also in 2004 with my Master's Degree in Education.

I began my teaching career in the Fall of 2002 at William Chrisman High School.  I taught there for 11 years before coming back to Blue Springs South in 2013.  This year begins my fifth year at South where I am teaching Chemistry I and Chemistry AP.  Outside of school I am the Assistant Girl's Tennis Coach in the Fall and the Head Boy's Tennis Coach in the Spring.  I have a 12-year old daughter who attends Delta Woods Middle School.  I have a 17 month old that we were blessed with in 2016. And lastly a beautiful wife (pictured above) that I have been married to for the past three years.

I am looking forward to an exciting year teaching your students in the classroom and coaching your athlete on the tennis court.  It will be a fun, challenging year for everybody.
