Mr. Ken Hansen
Ken is very fortunate to be teaching at Blue Springs South since 2012. Ken has been blessed to teach in four differnt districts and two states in his career. He has taught band from grades 6-12 for the largest part of his career.
At Blue Springs South Ken Hansen teaches the Jaguar Pride Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Freshman Percussion, 6th grade low brass at Moreland Ridge Middle School, 6th grade percussion at Moreland Ridge Middle School and 6th grade flute class Delta Woods Middle School.
Ken graduated from Central Methodist College in 1997 with a Bachelors of Music Education. In 1998 he graduated from the University of Missouri Columbia with a Masters in Music Education.
Ken believes that the students of Blue Springs South are among the most talented and hard working students in the country. The goal is to bring out the best musician from each student. Bnads at Blue Springs South are a part of the Jaguar Pride Family. By the time a student graduates from the Band Program at Blue Springs South they will have a love of music and fond memories of being a part of the largest team in the school.

Bands at Blue Springs South are hard working and active ensembles. All the bands combine during the fall for the Jaguar Pride Marching Band and the remainder of the year they work as separte ensembles. The ensembles after marching band are: Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band and Freshman Percussion that meet daily. All band at Blue Springs South consistently achieve high honors at all area festivals.
Blue Springs South Bands also have opportunities for students beyond the marching and concert bands. Students can participate in the Jazz Band, Winter Drumline and Winter Guard ensembles. All of these enselmbes continiue to be among the top performers in the MidWest.
