Mrs. Jacquelyn Young (Wells, Langston)

Mrs. Young began her teaching career in the summer of 1977 with the KCMO School District teaching mainly English. In 1983, Mrs. Young came to Blue Spring High to teach various levels of English and assist with the well established speech and debate program.  In 1992, Mrs Young moved from the English department to her current position as the Director of Forensics. Since her tenure, she has coached several students to the MSHSAA State Speech tournament with several finalists and 14 State champions. She has also coached 68 students to the National Speech and Debate Tournament with a current result of several quarter-finalists, six semi-finalists, six finalists, two final round champions, and three national champions. In addition, Mrs. Young has coached two NSDA School of Excellence teams and one NSDA School of Honor team. 
Mrs. Young is a member of the Speech and Debate Association of Missouri and a four diamond coach in the National Speech and Debate Association. 
Mrs. Young is married with one adult son who is an alumnus of Blue Springs High.
