No Tax Rate Increase Bond

  • The bond is $107M
  • In the fall of 2023, the freshman class would attend Blue Springs High School thanks to new construction
  • The Career and Innovation Center would continue to be developed at the former Blue Springs High School Freshman Campus
  • A multipurpose room built to withstand an EF5 tornado would be added at Franklin Smith Elementary, the last elementary school without the much-needed space
  • Six classrooms and an office expansion at James Lewis Elementary
  • Six new classrooms at William Bryant Elementary to address future growth in that area
  • Four new classrooms at Chapel Lakes Elementary built to withstand an EF5 tornado
  • Expand parking and add restrooms at James Walker Elementary
  • Upgrade the cooking kitchens at Franklin Smith, Lucy Franklin, Voy Spears Jr., William Bryant, and William Yates Elementary Schools so that staff may cook food at school instead of having it delivered
  • Office expansion and driveway updates for more efficient arrival and dismissal at John Nowlin Elementary
  • Necessary roof and HVAC maintenance
  • All-weather surfaces would be installed on the middle school tracks

No Tax Rate Increase Levy Fund Transfer

The current levy is $5.7286 and if the question is approved the levy will remain at $5.7286. This no tax rate increase levy fund transfer will generate $5.1M operating funds to be used to maintain class sizes, hire registered nurses at every school, and hire licensed professional counselors to address the mental health needs of our students at all middle and high schools.
