Welcome to Liggett Trail Education Center

  • Liggett Trail Education Center is a setting designed to address the needs of students ages three through twenty-one years, encompassing preschool age children who qualify for Early Childhood Special Education and school age Multi-Disabled Special Education students. Emphasis is upon school/parent communication, developmentally appropriate practices, specialized therapies and team approach that allows each student to work toward his or her potential.

  • Enrollment and Registration for 2018 - 2019 School Year


    New LTEC Students


    New Students registering in the district are required to take two of the following acceptable forms for proof of residency to the Department of Public Safety located at the Paul J. Consiglio Education Center, 1501 NW Jefferson Street, Blue Springs, 64015:


    DPS will be available for new student verification beginning July 16th.  DPS will be open Monday-Friday 8:00-4:00.


    -a current electricity bill (30 days old or less) *
    -a current gas bill (30 days old or less) *
    -a current water bill (30 days old or less) *
    -a mortgage contract (signed by mortgage company) *
    -a lease agreement (signed by landlord)
    -a mortgage statement


    *No final disconnect notices for utility bills are acceptable.


     In addition to your residency verification, please bring the following


    -Parent/guardian Picture ID (i.e. driver's license)
    -Student(s) birth certificate(s) (official state copy)
    -Divorce decree (showing custodial parent, if applicable)
    -Affidavit of Acknowledgement (if applicable)
    -Guardian paperwork if applicable (Power of Attorney is not acceptable)


    You must then take your paperwork from DPS and complete your enrollment at Liggett Trail Education Center on July 31st from 8:30 am-7:00 pm. 


    Returning LTEC Students


    Residency Verification/Enrollment will be held at Liggett Trail Education Center on August 7th from 8:30am - 7:00pm


    Please bring one of the following forms when completing e-registration to your designated building location:

    -a current gas bill (30 days old or less) *
    -a current water bill (30 days old or less) *
    -a lease agreement (signed by landlord)
    -a mortgage statement

    August 10-Teacher placement can be accessed through Parent Portal at 4:00 p.m. 

    PLEASE NOTE: Teacher assignments will not be finalized until August 10th

    Blue Springs R-IV School District invites all interested parties to subscribe to “Advocacy for BSSD.” This e-newsletter will deliver critical information regarding legislative activities and proposals. Subscribers will glean insight necessary to start conversations with legislators and community members on behalf of our schools and students.
