    Please consider participating in this year’s Walk-a-Thon on October 12th.   The Walk-a-Thon will support and raise funds for our students and teachers. 100% of the money raised will stay at DWMS!  The top 6 participating Gator Time classes will win a juice and donut party.

    There are three different packages available:

    Package A - $35.00 Participation in the Walk-a-Thon and a t-shirt

    Package B - $45.00 Participation in the Walk-a-Thon, a t-shirt, and an Electronics Day in October

    Package C - $60.00 All of the above, plus a chance to win a Target gift card

    **All levels will participate in fun games at the end of the walk.

    COMMUNITY UNITY WEEK: SEPTEMBER 17-21 

    Community Unity Week is September 17-21. Over the past five years, the Blue Springs School District has provided more than 6 months of goods to the families that the Community Services League serves. Last year Delta Woods Middle School was one of five winning BSSD buildings for contributions. Help us defend our championship status this year by donating items from the list below. All items need to be brought to DWMS by Friday, September 21. Thank you for your support.

    IMPORTANT 2018-2019 SCHOOL CALENDAR CHANGE Please note on your calendars the Board of Education made this important date change to the 2018-2019 school year.

    • School WILL be in session on Monday, November 5, 2018.

    • School will NOT be in session on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

      

     

     

    8TH GRADE TRIP ANNOUNCEMENT Attention all 8TH GRADE STUDENTS CURRENTLY SIGNED UP TO TRAVEL ON THE NY/DC/BOSTON trip: We are having a “2019 Group” DC/NYC/Boston meeting on Thursday, October 18th at 6:00 P.M. in the school library. We will go over trip details, hotel arrangements, rooming assignments, and other necessary information. It is VERY important that you and your child attend. Contact Mrs. Gough with any questions.

     

     

    7TH GRADE STUDENTS Attention all 7th GRADE STUDENTS who are interested in traveling to New York, D.C, and Boston with your friends during the summer after 8th grade, the informational signup meeting will be Monday, October 29th at 6:00 P.M. in the DWMS library. Last year, the trip filled up in fewer than four hours, so make sure to attend the meeting if you are interested in traveling on this awesome trip!     APPLIED SCIENCE AND TECHONOLOGY CLUB The Delta Woods Applied Science and Technology Club invites you to learn how Technology effects our daily lives. If you are interested in 3D Design, Automation, Robotics or Programming you should join Applied Science & Technology Club. We will meet on Thursdays before school from 7:30 until 8:10. See Mr. Riggs in room 401 for a permission form.

     

     

    10TH ANNUAL SOUTH SIDE CROSS COUNTRY CHALLENGE 

     

    WHAT: Blue Springs South cross country teams will be hosting a youth cross country meet.

     

    Who: Any boy or girl in grades 4-6 attending a south side elementary or middle school.

     

    When: Tuesday, October 9th at 5:30

     

    Where: Moreland Ridge

     

    Cost: FREE! Just show up at least 30 minutes before race time with a signed permission slip to receive your race bib.

     

    Permission forms may be found at the DWMS office

     

    PICTURE RETAKE DAY - OCTOBER 18th Picture retakes are scheduled for Thursday, October 18th.

     

     

    GARDEN CLUB Garden Club will meet Thursday, Sept. 20 at 3:15 in the media center. Please make sure you bring your permission slips. We will be working outside again. If you would like to join us and need a permission slip, see Mrs. Brown or Mrs. Knudsen.

      

     

    CODERDOJO OPPORTUNITY BSSD CoderDojo offers free and open programming technology learning experiences to young people ages 4-17. All skillsets are welcome, including those with no experience. Seats fill quickly, so sign up for your free ticket here: More info

     

    TUTORING OPPORTUNITIES Tuesday Homework Help is held on Tuesdays in the media center from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Teachers and high school A+ students are here to help students with homework and answer questions. Permission slips are required and available from the office or here. Tutoring Form

    Does your child have a math question? DWMS math teachers are available to help. Students may attend any of the tutoring opportunities below, regardless of who their current math teacher is.
