Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! I am very excited to meet and continue the educational experience with you and your student. My name is Brett Lyon and I am the new building principal for Brittany Hill Middle School. I am a graduate of the Cass Midway School District, the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!), and the University of Central Missouri. I have had the opportunity to serve the Blue Springs School District for the last twelve years. I have been a school administrator for the last ten years serving at Brittany Hill, Moreland Ridge, and the Freshman Center. Prior to that, I taught Social Studies at Oak Grove High School and Academic Skills at Paul Kinder Middle School. I am thrilled to return to Brittany Hill as the principal and am looking forward to a great school year.
I am the proud father to my three children Ella (9), Landon (6), and Will (3) they keep me on my toes and on the go when I am not at school. My wife, Erin, is a high school math teacher, so we spend a lot of free time at school activities between our two buildings. In the rare occurrence that we have spare time we enjoy travelling, working in our garden, and riding our horses.
My purpose at Brittany Hill Middle School is always to keep students and staff safe and secure. I believe that it is my job to ensure that the learning environment for our students instructionally and physically is functioning at the highest level of achievement. I believe that parents, students, and school staff can work together to form powerful teams to benefit the achievement and growth for all students. Educating the students here at Brittany Hill takes a team with all stakeholders working in unison to produce high-achieving lifelong learners and citizens. You are your students best advocate and at Brittany Hill Middle School we will strive to ensure that your student achieves the highest level of academic success.
Your partner in education,
Brittany Hill Middle School Principal
