Mr. Mitchell received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Alabama where he won the prestigious I.T.E.A. Solo Artist Award.  Following his undergraduate studies Mr. Mitchell completed an Masters of the Musical Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he enjoyed an active freelance career and taught a large private studio.  His teachers have included: James Jenkins, Michael Dunn, Gerald Welker, John Stevens, and David Becker.  Immediately pior to his work with the Blue Springs School District Mr. Mitchel performed with La Orquesta Sinfonica de Salta in Salta, Argentina.
