Middle School summer classes "Go Green"
Fashion, food and dance took center stage at Moreland Ridge Middle School as students in the Blue Springs School District’s Creative Arts Academy presented “Go Green,” an eco-friendly fashion show.
Students in the fashion design class, modeled after the reality show, "Project Runway," created original ideas from recycled materials. Students focused on three eco-friendly projects: a garment redesign, a bag made from drink pouches, and a "green" project of their choice. Students then took to the runway to show off their fashions in front of the crowd. Students from the culinary arts course provided refreshments and creative dance students entertained the crowd with a mixture of classic and hip-hop moves. “Today was like a dream come true,” said seventh grade student Jay Hembree. “I have always wanted to model and dance and this was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done.”
