Lab Rules
Course Description: This is an exploratory course that focuses on the introduction of correct keyboarding techniques and touch typing through daily practice to build speed and accuracy.
Course Objectives:
1. Demonstrate proper keyboarding techniques.
2. Demonstrate proper finger placement.
3. Identify the location of the alphabetic, numeric, punctuation, and symbol keys.
Required Materials:
· pen or pencil & planner
Grades are based on:
· Attitude and effort during class
· Keyboarding technique
· Formatting skills
· Timed-writing
· Proofreading
· Various assessments
Absentee Policy:
Lessons may be made up on work days in class or students may attend open lab times to make up assignments
Tardy Policy:
· 3 warnings, 4th tardy is a detention
· Being late to class, retrieving something from your locker, & not ready to learn can earn you a tardy.
Lab Rules:
· Be on time to class. (This means in your seat ready to learn.)
· Bring all supplies with you.
· Be respectful and responsible.
· Follow directions the first time they are given.
· Recycle paper; do not throw it in the trash.
· Do not print without permission.
· Only approved websites can be accessed.
· Do not misuse the student workstations
NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR COMPUTER PASSWORD!!!
**Lab rules and school rules must be followed at all times. Failure to follow the rules will result in an office referral.
